Now, more than ever, it’s so important to keep mind and body active and healthy during these uncertain times.

We are asking our supporters to commit to 5,000 steps (or more!) every day, which will not only boost physical health, but will also protect your mental wellbeing as we step into springtime.

By joining our fully flexed challenge, you are keeping active, and could also be raising vital money for Rowans Hospice. What’s more, asking family and friends to sponsor your challenge will motivate you to reach your 5,000 steps a day!

Choose how you take part

Get creative and decide what you’ll do each day to reach your 5,000 step challenge:

  • Will you join Joe Wicks on his 9am PE workout on YouTube?
  • How about an obstacle course in the garden that the kids can do too?
  • Who knew vacuuming and house work could be part of a fitness goal?
  • Did you know 90’s fitness instructor Mr Motivator is back on BBC1 every morning – who knew?!
  • Why not try mixing it up a little and skip, hop, jump, hula hoop, dance or star jump to get your steps up?
  • Did you know your stairs can give you a HIIT workout for added intensity?

During this period of lockdown we are looking to celebrate our fundraising heroes online, so please share photos and videos of your fun activities and creativity by tagging us on social media @RowansHospice or join our online Community Fundraisers Facebook group to share what you’re doing.

How to fundraise

The ‘Step It Up for Rowans’ 5k a day step challenge is free to take part in – all you need to do is decide what you want to do, how you’ll do it and for how long.

The easiest way to pay any donations or sponsorship to the Charity is through our special Donate page.

You might choose to simply donate what you would have spent on your sessions at the gym this month!

Or you can collect sponsorship from family and friends to help keep you going! Don’t forget to set up a JustGiving page as an easy way to do this.
